Career Track #1: Culinary Arts

The Empowered Youth Culinary Program has been operating since 2010 and has a proven record of success.

The Culinary Career Track offers culinary class once a week (conducted at the St. Stephen’s Day School, 3439 Main Highway, Coconut Grove), taught by a professional chef and following a culinary arts curriculum.

The culinary arts paid employment paid phase takes place at the Empowered Youth HUB in Wynwood, where our students receive on-the-job training skills in an array of small business, culinary, and service functions.

The proven success rate of the Culinary Career Track is in the 90 percentile, as most of our students go on to work in the hospitality industry in Miami and become contributing members of their communities.

The Empowered Youth Culinary Arts Career Track trains our students to be excellent employees (honest, responsible, accountable, hardworking and respectful); and they graduate from our program prepared for success.

Empowered Youth (EY) is a 501c3 public not-for-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of inner-city, at-risk youth. We serve young men between the ages of 12 and 21, most of whom have been referred to us by the Department of Juvenile Justice.
